After the construction of the R7 Expressway the negative effects of transport on the environment will be reduced; road safety and traffic flow will improve and accident rates will be reduced. Positive impact of the R7 Expressway is also expected regarding the protection of population against noise pollution.
The beginning of this section starts at the planned interchange "Ketelec" (R7 and D4 crossing), near the gravel mine area of Podunajské Biskupice, about 1,8 km south of the Slovnaft area in Bratislava district Podunajské Biskupice, where it continues the section of R7 Expressway Bratislava Prievoz – Ketelec. The R7 Expressway route bypasses the protected territory of European importance NATURA 2000, Ramsar locality of Dunajské Luhy and the protected area of Dunajské Luhy, at a distance of about 159 m to 200 m and follows further in south-eastern direction southwest of villages Rovinka and Dunajská Lužná, bypassing biocentre of local importance mBC3 Lučina and a pond in mBC1 Kamenný pasienok. Between villages Dunajská Lužná and Kalinkovo it crosses the remains of a former arm of Danube, the old embankment of the Danube and existing road III/0635 via an elevated bridge. This section of R7 Expressway ends at the interchange "Dunajská Lužná" (R7 and road I/63 crossing) between the village Dunajská Lužná and town Šamorín, where it will join the next section of R7 Expressway Dunajská Lužná – Holice.
